Bring your clinical precision, bedside warmth, and a collaborative spirit to a role that honors both your skill and your compassion. You’ll be joining a team that understands the difference a thoughtful, hands-on nurse makes in the daily comfort and long-term well-being of every resident. In this setting, your expertise in medication administration, symptom management, safety protocols, and compassionate communication will directly influence quality of life, while you build enduring relationships with residents, families, and staff.

Location Benefits
Waterloo, NY situates you in the picturesque Finger Lakes region, where the scenery of rolling hills, sparkling lakes, and vibrant fall colors harmonizes with a slower, patient-centered pace. You’ll enjoy opportunities to explore nearby wineries, historic towns, and outdoor trails that make work-life balance a reality. Moving beyond Waterloo, this role also offers the possibility to work in various locations across New York and across the United States, exposing you to diverse care communities, regulatory environments, and patient populations. Whether you’re drawn to urban amenities or rural tranquility, you’ll gain firsthand insight into how different communities approach long-term care, care planning, and family engagement. The chance to experience New York’s cultural offerings, seasonal events, and regional specialties adds a rich backdrop to your professional journey, inviting you to grow as a clinician while nurturing your personal interests.

Role Specifics and Benefits
In this role, you’ll deliver direct patient care to residents in long-term care facilities, guiding wellness, comfort, and safety on every shift. Core responsibilities include performing assessments, monitoring vital signs, administering medications and treatments, managing wounds and skin integrity, assisting with activities of daily living, and partnering with RNs to update and implement individualized care plans. You’ll provide education to residents and families about medications, health maintenance, safety practices, and fall prevention, ensuring continuity of care across days and transitions. Your dedication to accurate documentation, infection control, and quality improvement will strengthen the facility’s ability to meet evolving standards and optimize resident outcomes. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams will be a daily habit, with opportunities to contribute to care conferences and family meetings.

Growth and development are central to this position. Expect the chance to pursue geriatric care certifications, expanded wound care competencies, IV therapy where permitted, and other clinical enhancements that align with your interests. With the right initiative, you can broaden your scope to senior care leadership, mentorship of new staff, or precepting student or traveling nurses, all while maintaining the compassionate, patient-first approach that defines outstanding long-term care. The role also emphasizes flexibility and professional progression, offering extensible contracts for dedicated performers who demonstrate reliability and leadership potential.

Compensation and support are structured to recognize your expertise and the realities of travel nursing. Weekly pay ranges from $1,361 to $1,459, reflecting the value you bring to resident care. You’ll have access to a comprehensive benefits package that may include a signing bonus, housing assistance, and potential contract extensions to support longer-term placements. While proactive travel planning is encouraged, the company provides 24/7 support during travel, ensuring you are never alone when navigating new facilities, schedules, and local resources. Housing assistance helps ease relocation logistics, and the potential for contract extensions offers continuity and the opportunity to deepen your impact within a community. It’s important to note that guaranteed hours are not provided; schedules are designed to maximize resident needs and your availability in a flexible, adaptable manner.
