This is your chance to impact diverse communities while enjoying the sun-soaked beauty of the Southwest. From the Sonoran Desert landscapes and saguaro-filled horizons to the city’s vibrant dining and arts scene, Arizona offers both professional purpose and enriching downtime to recharge after demanding shifts. Start Date: 03/02/2026. Duration: Weeks. Guaranteed Hours: 24.0 per week. Weekly pay: $2,046-$2,110.
Working in Tucson means joining a respected medical community with cutting-edge facilities, collaborative teams, and ample opportunities for ongoing training. Beyond the hospital walls, you’ll have access to outdoor adventures, museums, craft breweries, and a rich blend of Hispanic and Native American cultures. The local climate invites year-round activity, from hiking in the nearby Catalina Mountains to exploring the city’s historic districts and culinary scene. And because this is a travel assignment program, there may be options to take assignments in other locations across the United States, expanding your clinical exposure and network while maintaining your core support and schedule. Tucson’s ER teams value teamwork, rapid decision-making, and patient-centered communication—elements that align with nurses who want to grow within the specialty while delivering excellence on every shift.
Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Key responsibilities: Triage and stabilize acutely ill and injured patients; perform rapid assessments; initiate and monitor IVs, medications, and life-support interventions; maintain continuous patient surveillance with telemetry when indicated; administer appropriate analgesia and sedation per protocol; coordinate with physicians, residents, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff; document nursing assessments and interventions accurately; ensure patient safety, infection control, and high standards of care; participate in handoffs and shift-to-shift communication; contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice; seek opportunities for cross-training within the ER to broaden clinical versatility.
- Professional growth: This ER assignment is designed to accelerate your expertise in high-acuity nursing, with pathways for trauma-informed care, blood product management, disaster response readiness, and leadership development. Expect access to specialty trainings, continuing education credits, and mentorship from seasoned ER clinicians to support certification pursuits and career advancement within the broader travel and permanent staffing networks.
- Competitive benefits: In addition to the competitive weekly pay, enjoy a travel package that includes a sign-on or completion incentive where offered, housing assistance to ease relocation, and potential contract extensions to extend your time with the team and deepen your ER experience. The program supports flexible extension opportunities based on unit needs and your performance, giving you more chances to advance and diversify your professional portfolio.
