Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Morrisville, VT
Contracted
Copley Health Systems, Inc
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal PACU nursing role in Vermont, Morrisville, where your clinical skill and compassionate care shape the critical first moments of recovery after anesthesia. As a Registered Nurse specializing in the post-anesthesia care unit, you’ll guide patients through improved comfort, stable breathing, and smooth transitions to the next phase of recovery. Your expertise will support surgical teams, minimize opioid exposure through multimodal strategies, and uphold patient safety with meticulous monitoring and rapid intervention when needed. Beyond the bedside, Vermont’s tranquil landscapes and vibrant small-town culture provide a backdrop that nourishes resilience and professional joy. From the rolling Green Mountains to serene lakes and forested roads, the state invites you to reset and reconnect after each shift. The beauty of Vermont—seasonal color displays, outdoor adventures, and close-knit communities—offers daily inspiration for care, balance, and growth.
Working in Morrisville places you in a community hospital setting that prizes teamwork, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered recovery. You’ll benefit from competitive compensation, guaranteed 40 hours per week, and a schedule designed to support family, fitness, and continued education. As part of a national travel program, you’ll also have the opportunity to work at facilities across the United States, expanding your clinical repertoire and exposing you to diverse PACU protocols, surgical specialties, and patient populations. This breadth of experience accelerates skill development, opens doors for specialty certifications, and enriches your professional network while you explore new communities, cuisines, and landscapes along the way.
In this role, you’ll carry key responsibilities that empower faster, safer recoveries. You will initiate and maintain airway support as needed, continuously monitor vitals, oxygenation, hemodynamics, and pain control, and promptly identify and manage nausea, delirium, bleeding, or airway compromise. You’ll assess patient status in collaboration with anesthesia and surgical teams, document recovery progress, and prepare patients for discharge to the floor or to home when appropriate. You’ll contribute to accurate handoffs, optimize equipment readiness, and uphold sterile technique while supporting family education about post-anesthesia care, activity planning, and warning signs to watch for. The environment is fast-paced, but your clinical judgment, calm communication, and meticulous documentation ensure safety and continuity of care for every patient. As you evolve in this specialty, you’ll find pathways to leadership roles within PACU, involvement in unit-based quality improvement projects, and opportunities to tutor or mentor new travelers and staff.
This assignment offers more than daily practice. You’ll enjoy additional benefits designed to support your life on the road and your long-term career. The pay range is competitive, with weekly compensation between $2,458 and $2,499, reflecting the level of responsibility in PACU care and the quality of your expertise. The contract guarantees 40 hours per week, promoting financial stability and predictable scheduling. A competitive bonus structure may be available, along with housing assistance to reduce relocation stress and ease transition to new locales. We also offer extension opportunities if both parties find the fit compelling, encouraging continuity of growth in your chosen specialty. From clinical mentorship to continuing education stipends, the program is designed to accelerate your professional trajectory while honoring your wellbeing and personal goals. Comprehensive travel support ensures you’re never alone on the road: 24/7 assistance from our dedicated team, travel coordinators to optimize assignments, and around-the-clock clinical resources to help you handle any situation with confidence.
Our company is founded on empowering staff to advance their careers within a supportive, collaborative culture. We champion professional development, recognize achievement, and foster an environment where experienced RNs mentor newer travelers, share best practices, and contribute to patient safety and care quality. You’ll have access to resources that enable licensure across states, opportunities to pursue certifications relevant to perioperative and postoperative care, and a performance framework that rewards initiative, leadership, and teamwork. The goal is to equip you with the experience, confidence, and connections that enable sustained growth—whether you choose to stay in PACU, expand into anesthesia support services, or later transition into roles in education and program development. We believe in your potential and in a work environment that respects your voice, your clock, and your contribution to every patient’s recovery journey.
