Travel Registered Nurse Oncology Job
Geneva, NY
Contracted
Geneva General Hospital (GGH)
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative journey as a Travel Registered Nurse in Oncology, delivering compassionate, evidence-based cancer care across dynamic settings in New York and Geneva. In this role you’ll partner with oncologists, infusion teams, and multidisciplinary colleagues to support patients through complex treatment plans, monitor for side effects, manage symptoms, and educate families with clarity and empathy. Every infusion you oversee, every reaction you anticipate, and every plan you customize reinforces hope and quality of life for patients facing cancer. This is more than a role; it’s an opportunity to refine your clinical expertise, expand your professional network, and influence outcomes in a field that blends scientific rigor with human connection. Imagine contributing to a continuum of care that empowers patients to navigate treatment with confidence, while you cultivate leadership skills, adapt to evolving protocols, and pursue ongoing oncology certifications that elevate your practice.
New York is renowned for its vibrant energy, cultural richness, and natural beauty, from the cosmopolitan pulse of its cities to the tranquil shores of the Finger Lakes. Geneva, nestled along the serene shores, offers a close-knit community feel, picturesque views, and access to wineroads, waterfront trails, and regional events that celebrate resilience and renewal. Separately, the vacancy includes opportunities to work in various locations across the U.S., each site offering its own unique patient populations, facility cultures, and clinical experiences. You’ll gain exposure to tertiary care centers with comprehensive cancer programs, community hospitals delivering essential infusion services, and rural facilities that emphasize close collaboration and hands-on autonomy. This breadth of settings broadens your clinical perspective and enriches your professional story, all while you enjoy the distinctive texture of each locale—whether you’re near bright urban skylines, historic districts, or scenic landscapes.
Role specifics and benefits: As a primary oncology nurse on assignment, you will administer chemotherapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and supportive medications, monitor for adverse events, manage central venous access devices, and coordinate complex treatment plans with oncologists, pharmacists, and palliative teams. You’ll provide patient education on treatment goals, potential side effects, symptom management strategies, and when to seek urgent care, ensuring that care plans align with patient values and preferences. You’ll document meticulously, participate in safety and quality initiatives, and contribute to multidisciplinary rounds and tumor boards. The position offers a clear path for professional growth through specialty certifications, mentorship roles, procedural skill expansion, and leadership development within oncology services. Compensation reflects competitive market rates and the breadth of responsibility, with weekly pay ranging from $1,922 to $1,979. The assignment supports a comprehensive benefits package, including a sign-on incentive where applicable, housing assistance to ease transition, and opportunities for contract extensions based on performance and facility needs. Importantly, you’ll have access to extended scope learning, cross-site collaboration, and ongoing professional development supported by a network that values your expertise.
Support and security are foundational to this program. You’ll receive 24/7 assistance while traveling with the company, ensuring you have reliable resources, travel coordination, and rapid escalation pathways whenever clinical questions arise or on-site needs evolve. The program is designed to be responsive to your professional rhythm, offering flexible extension opportunities and regular touchpoints to discuss assignment goals, competencies gained, and future placements that align with your career trajectory. While the current structure notes Guaranteed Hours as 0.0, actual scheduling is coordinated per assignment to optimize patient coverage, facility needs, and your preferences, with full transparency during the hiring process. Please note: hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary; final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.
Company values are centered on empowering staff, advancing careers, and fostering a supportive, collaborative environment where your voice shapes patient care and team dynamics. Our aim is to cultivate a positive work culture that recognizes effort, supports clinical excellence, and enables you to grow into a trusted oncology leader. You’ll join colleagues who share a commitment to patient dignity, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement, and you’ll have access to peer networks, mentorship, and resources that sustain long-term professional happiness and resilience.
