Ardent Health Services Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative travel nursing journey as a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical units, where every shift offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. This Med Surg travel assignment invites you to apply your clinical judgment, refine essential skills, and lead with compassion across a dynamic range of adult medicine cases. Beginning January 5, 2026, for a contract of several weeks with extension opportunities, you will support inpatient teams, coordinate care, and advocate for patients and families at pivotal moments. Beyond the hospital walls, you’ll discover the beauty of New Jersey—the sunlit shorelines, scenic foothills, charming towns, and a thriving arts scene—that complements your professional journey with rich cultural experiences.

Westwood, New Jersey, located in Bergen County just a short ride from New York City, offers a welcoming, community‑oriented setting with excellent access to top medical facilities, educational resources, and recreational amenities. Working in this location means you can enjoy the best of suburban comfort and urban proximity: quiet neighborhoods for rest, parks and trails for downtime, diverse dining, and cultural events. In addition, this program affords you the flexibility to be deployed to different locations across the U.S., expanding your professional network, exposing you to varied patient populations, and broadening your clinical perspective with each assignment. New Jersey’s multifaceted environments allow you to experience everything from coastlines to historic parks, while your travels can weave you into a tapestry of hospital cultures and patient stories that sharpen your Med Surg expertise.

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will center on comprehensive Med Surg care: thorough patient assessments, timely administration of medications and IV therapies, wound and postoperative care, tube and catheter management, telemetry monitoring as indicated, rapid response readiness, and meticulous discharge planning and patient education. You’ll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to craft individualized care plans, document efficiently in electronic health records, and uphold best practices in safety and infection control. This role offers plentiful opportunities for professional growth—specialization within Med Surg, leadership pathways, and mentorship that can accelerate your development for future roles. Our package features a competitive weekly gross rate of $1,356–$1,380, a discretionary bonus, and housing assistance to simplify the transition to travel life. You’ll also have the option of contract extensions, giving you a clear path to longer assignments if you wish. We provide robust support: 24/7 assistance from a dedicated travel team, onboarding and ongoing clinical support, and a network of fellow travelers and clinicians to share experiences. While there is no guaranteed hours, you’ll have a structured schedule with reliable workflows and transparent communication to maximize your planning and earnings.

At the heart of our program is a commitment to empowering nurses—investing in your growth, recognizing your expertise, and fostering a supportive, inclusive culture where your voice matters. We believe in elevating clinical leadership, expanding access to education and credentials, and creating a collaborative environment where every clinician can thrive. Our partners are dedicated to your well‑being and professional advancement, and they stand ready to help you navigate transitions between assignments with confidence. This is more than a job change—it's a pathway to broadened horizons, enhanced skills, and a community that celebrates your contributions to patient care.
