Your expertise will support individuals in crisis, recovery, and ongoing wellness, while you experience the energy of major urban centers and the warmth of close-knit communities. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to apply evidence-based psychiatric nursing in diverse settings, to grow professionally, and to impact patient outcomes with compassion, skill, and resilience. As you travel, you’ll also have the chance to discover the beauty of the state—from the scenic Hudson Valley and the Adirondacks to the cultural richness of New York City neighborhoods and the vibrant neighborhoods of Newark—creating a rewarding backdrop for your professional path.

Location Benefits: Working in New York and Newark offers you an extraordinary blend of urban vitality and interconnected care networks. In New York, you can rotate through psychiatric units, outpatient programs, and community mental health facilities across bustling metropolitan areas and quieter suburban campuses, gaining exposure to a wide spectrum of presentations and treatment modalities. Newark expands your horizon with access to innovative behavioral health services, integrated care teams, and close collaboration with social work, psychology, and medical colleagues. The opportunity to work across locations in the U.S. (as part of a broader travel program) gives you flexibility to align assignments with your personal goals, seasonal interests, and professional development plans. Enjoy competitive compensation, the chance to earn while learning, and the support you need as you adapt to different facility cultures, electronic health record systems, and care protocols. And beyond work, this itinerary lets you savor the state’s diverse landscapes, from waterfront promenades and historic districts to parks and river trails that invite exploration after shifts.

Role Specifics and Benefits: As a Psych-focused LPN, you’ll provide compassionate, patient-centered care on psychiatric units, crisis intervention teams, and community-based settings. Key responsibilities include conducting psycho-social assessments, monitoring vital signs, assisting with medication administration and management, observing for safety risks, de-escalating crises, and documenting care activities in alignment with treatment plans and standards of practice. You’ll collaborate with RNs, physicians, social workers, case managers, and therapists to support individualized recovery goals, implement behavior plans, and facilitate activities that promote mood stabilization and goal attainment. You’ll assist with group and individual therapies as directed, participate in discharge planning, and contribute to continuity of care across shifts and settings. This role supports professional growth through exposure to diverse psychiatric presentations—depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress, and substance use-related conditions—allowing you to refine assessment techniques, enhance medication knowledge, and build competencies in de-escalation, safety planning, and patient advocacy. Benefits include a competitive weekly pay range of $1,320–$1,381, a sign-on or completion bonus, and housing assistance to ease relocation. You’ll have the flexibility of weeks-long assignments with extension opportunities based on performance, facility needs, and your own preferences. While traveling, you’ll receive comprehensive support from a dedicated, 24/7 team who can assist with schedules, accommodations, and any on-site or logistical questions. It’s a chance to grow within psychiatric nursing, expanding your scope of practice while making a tangible difference in patient outcomes. Start date is 02/09/2026, with assignments lasting weeks at a time, enabling you to plan ahead and explore new communities while maintaining clinical continuity and care quality.
