Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
Reedley, CA
Contracted
Adventist Health Reedley
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative nursing opportunity as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery. This contract position places you in Reedley, California, where your expertise will support families during one of life’s most meaningful moments. You will partner with obstetric teams to monitor labor progress, manage complex maternal and neonatal needs, and deliver evidence-based care that respects each family’s values. The work is challenging and rewarding, demanding quick assessment, decisive action, and clear communication, all delivered with empathy. As you rotate through labor, delivery, and recovery units, you’ll build proficiency in fetal surveillance, emergent obstetric interventions, anesthesia coordination, and postpartum education. This assignment is designed for skilled RNs who relish high-stakes teamwork, continuous learning, and the chance to expand clinical leadership within the L&D specialty. California’s vibrant communities and scenic landscapes offer a backdrop that inspires balance and resilience, reinforcing the value of a career dedicated to maternal-child health. Separately, you can explore the beautiful places of this state, from sun-dappled vineyards and nature trails to wine country vistas and coastal escapes, reflecting the energy you bring to your daily rounds.
Reedley, a friendly agricultural hub in the Central Valley, combines small-town character with proximity to larger cities and a robust network of hospitals across California. In this role you’ll enjoy the stability of a premier health system while gaining exposure to a diverse patient population and a wide range of obstetric scenarios. The assignment also offers the flexibility to work in other California locations and, through our nationwide program, opportunities to support facilities across the United States. You’ll benefit from streamlined housing support, relocation assistance if needed, and access to a community of traveling clinicians who share best practices and a sense of camaraderie. Living in Reedley means easy access to family-friendly outdoor spaces, community events, and a respectful pace that allows you to recharge between shifts, all while contributing your ultrasound coordination and newborn care skills to improving outcomes.
Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive labor assessments, continuous fetal monitoring, administration of labor analgesia and medications, assisting with deliveries including cesarean procedures, rapid response to obstetric emergencies, postpartum recovery, lactation support, newborn stabilization, and patient education for new parents. You’ll collaborate closely with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, midwives, and neonatal teams to ensure seamless care transitions. This is a weeks-long contract with flexibility for extension, designed for professional growth: you’ll deepen expertise in high-risk obstetrics, expand leadership capabilities by coordinating care across shifts, and pursue continuing education credits supported by the program. We offer competitive weekly pay ranging from 2,391 to 2,579, with a sign-on bonus and housing assistance to ease your transition. In addition, there are extension opportunities—contract renewals that let you extend your time with the same facility or reassign to other locations—so you can plan ahead. Comprehensive support is available around the clock while you travel with the company, including 24/7 helpdesk, housing support, travel coordination, and access to a dedicated clinician liaison who can troubleshoot scheduling or clinical concerns. Please note: The hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process. The posted start date is 02/23/2026.
Our partner organizations are built on empowering clinicians to grow, mentor each other, and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care. You’ll find a supportive work environment that values your contributions, offers structured pathways to advance in the L&D continuum, and respects work-life balance as a essential component of career longevity. The culture emphasizes collaboration, transparency, and accountability, ensuring you have the resources, mentorship, and recognition you need to thrive.
If you’re ready to elevate your impact as an L&D RN and join a community that prioritizes your development, apply today. This is more than a contract—it’s an invitation to shape maternal and newborn outcomes while enjoying generous benefits, meaningful work, and a pathway to broader opportunities across California and beyond.
