Travel Occupational Therapist Job
Texas is a state of diverse experiences and welcoming communities, and Waco sits at the heart of that distinctive landscape. Working in Waco offers a warm, hospitable environment with a robust healthcare network, affordable living, and a thriving local culture. You’ll enjoy the chance to immerse yourself in a community known for its friendly neighborhoods, outdoor spaces along the Brazos River, and a growing array of dining, arts, and family-friendly attractions. Plus, the flexibility of travel assignments means you can explore other towns and regions across the U.S.—expanding your professional horizon while maintaining the stability of a trusted support system back home. While you can stay rooted in Waco during this assignment, the broader opportunity to rotate through varied facilities nationwide enables you to broaden your clinical repertoire, encounter different payer landscapes, and refine your therapeutic approach in a multitude of contexts.
Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Core responsibilities: As a Travel Occupational Therapist, you’ll assess functional limitations, develop individualized treatment plans, implement evidence-based interventions, and track functional outcomes across inpatient rehab, outpatient clinics, and home health settings. You’ll address activities of daily living, mobility, cognitive and perceptual skills, fine motor coordination, and adaptive equipment needs. Documentation will be thorough and timely, with clear communication to families, caregivers, and the broader care team. You’ll also participate in discharge planning and patient education to support continued progress after the episode ends.
- Professional growth: This assignment provides ongoing opportunities to deepen OT competencies within geriatrics, pediatrics, neurology, and rehabilitation, while honing leadership and mentorship skills. Expect exposure to innovative therapy modalities, telehealth integration, and collaborative problem solving with physicians, nurses, social workers, and case managers. You’ll be encouraged to pursue additional certifications and specialty experiences that align with your career goals.
- Benefits you can count on: In addition to competitive compensation, you may receive a sign-on or performance bonus where applicable, housing assistance or provided housing options, and the potential for contract extensions based on performance and facility needs. The role includes comprehensive travel-related perks such as relocation support, travel reimbursements, and flexible scheduling aligned with facility demands. A guaranteed 36 hours weekly ensures a consistent income stream and workload predictability.
- Support you’ll never have to navigate alone: You’ll have round-the-clock access to a dedicated travel support team and clinical leadership, available 24/7 to troubleshoot urgent issues, coordinate placement logistics, and assist with any patient-care or operational concerns. This robust support network is designed to reduce stress and maximize your focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
- Environment and collaboration: Expect a collaborative culture that values patient-centered outcomes, professional integrity, and open communication. You’ll work within environments that promote evidence-based practice, reflective supervision, and peer learning, all aimed at elevating your clinical confidence and job satisfaction.
