Travel Registered Nurse ER Job

Sonora, CA
Contracted
Adventist Health Sonora
Mid Level
Step into a high-energy ER nursing role as a traveling Registered Nurse in Sonora, California, where your clinical leadership and compassionate care will help communities weather medical emergencies with confidence. This ER assignment is designed for skilled professionals who thrive under pressure, who listen first and act with precision, and who understand that timely, evidence-based decisions save lives. As you step into the bustling corridors of the Emergency Department, you will bring decisive triage, rapid assessment, and decisive interventions to patients of all ages, from trauma to medical emergencies, positioning you to sharpen your expertise while making a tangible difference. California’s Sonora offers a rare blend of small-town charm and outdoor inspiration, inviting you to recharge after shifts with hiking, scenic drives, and historic streets that celebrate the region’s Gold Rush heritage. If you crave variety, this role can open doors to additional assignments across other locations in the U.S., expanding your network and keeping your practice vibrant. Start date is 02/02/2026, and the duration is measured in weeks, with shifts that may include days, evenings, and nights to match patient needs and your preferences.

Working in Sonora provides a supportive ED team, modern facilities, and access to generous outdoor recreation—immediate proximity to lakes, forests, and mountain trails, while remaining within a reasonable drive of Yosemite and wine country. The experience in this California setting couples critical patient care with the chance to explore a region known for its friendly communities, weekend getaways, and year-round activities. For clinicians seeking breadth, our travel program also offers placements in other states, allowing you to culture-fit across diverse patient populations, hospital cultures, and care models. You’ll gain exposure to a variety of acuity levels, trauma scenarios, and complex medical presentations that challenge you to adapt quickly while maintaining patient-centered care.

Role specifics and benefits: In this ER nurse role, you’ll perform comprehensive triage, initial patient assessment, stabilization, IV therapy, administer medications, manage chest pain protocols, stroke alerts, trauma resuscitations, and post-emergency care transitions with meticulous documentation. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians, PAs, respiratory therapists, radiology techs, and case management to ensure efficient patient flow, safe discharges, and timely bed placement. You’ll lead with patient safety as your core compass, applying evidence-based protocols, leading debriefs after critical events, and serving as a resource for less experienced staff and traveling teammates. The position supports professional growth through cross-training opportunities, credentialing support, and potential pathways into leadership, charge duties, or clinical education roles as you build seniority in the travel program. Our benefits package is competitive and designed to recognize your expertise: a weekly pay between $1,857 and $1,969, a sign-on bonus, housing assistance, and the option to extend your contract for additional weeks or into new assignments as your goals evolve. You’ll receive comprehensive support from our travel team with 24/7 assistance, streamlined licensing and credentialing, seamless travel logistics, and on-site support during your assignment to help you feel grounded wherever you are. We emphasize reliable scheduling, transparent communication, and a culture that values your well-being as much as your clinical impact.

Company culture and values: Our organization is dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals, advancing careers through continuous education and mentorship, and cultivating a supportive, inclusive environment where your expertise is respected and your curiosity is nurtured. We partner with healthcare facilities that share our commitment to safety, innovation, and compassionate care, ensuring you have the resources, guidance, and community you need to thrive. By prioritizing teamwork, ongoing skill development, and open feedback, we foster a sense of belonging and purpose for every clinician who joins our mission to deliver outstanding emergency care in diverse settings across the country.

Call to action: If you’re ready to bring your ER expertise to a community that values resilience, careful judgment, and compassionate service, apply now to join a forward-thinking travel program that respects your contribution, supports your development, and helps you build a dynamic, mobile nursing career.
