Travel Registered Nurse NICU Job
Westwood, NJ
Contracted
Ardent Health Services Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal NICU nursing role in Westwood, New Jersey, and join a dedicated team where your NICU expertise will translate into life-changing outcomes for the smallest patients. As a Registered Nurse specializing in the NICU, you’ll be at the forefront of critical newborn care, collaborating with neonatology physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to stabilize vulnerable infants and guide families through some of their most challenging moments. Your day might include comprehensive newborn assessments, continuous monitoring of vitals and stability, ventilator and respiratory support management, IV therapy and pharmacologic administration, incubator and radiant warmer oversight, phototherapy when needed, and precise developmental feeding plans. You’ll participate in rounds, implement evidence-based protocols, advocate for family-centered care, and support transitions from the NICU to home. In this travel assignment, your impact extends beyond a single hospital: you’ll have the opportunity to broaden your NICU proficiency across diverse units, learn new workflows, and contribute to a network of neonatal experts who share your commitment to excellence. This is more than a role; it’s an opportunity to elevate patient outcomes, advance your clinical judgment, and influence the trajectory of countless newborns and families.
New Jersey’s Westwood setting offers both professional advantages and personal appeal. In addition to the robust healthcare landscape of Bergen County, you’ll experience convenient access to top-tier facilities, cultural amenities, and an inviting local community. For those who relish exploration, Westwood provides proximity to world-class cities and scenic destinations, while the broader U.S. travel option lets you rotate through different NICUs nationwide, enriching your clinical toolkit and expanding your professional network. And as you roam, you’ll discover the beauty of this state’s varied landscapes—crisp fall colors in the Ramapo foothills, the dramatic cliffs along the Palisades, the tranquil nooks of the Delaware Water Gap, and the coastline’s inviting charm from Cape May to the shore towns. The opportunity to combine clinical growth with the chance to visit spectacular places makes this assignment uniquely rewarding.
Role specifics and benefits are designed to support your success from start date to extension. Begin your assignment on 03/23/2026 for a multi-week engagement that prioritizes your clinical leadership and technical finesse in NICU care. You’ll assume primary responsibilities such as meticulous newborn assessments, continuous monitoring and interpretation of hemodynamics, ventilator management and weaning support, vasopressor and infusion administration, central line and IV care, medication safety, TPN and parenteral nutrition oversight, phototherapy and temperature regulation, and careful fluid balance management. You’ll lead family updates with clarity and empathy, coordinate multidisciplinary rounds, ensure infection control practices, and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to deepen neonatal competencies. The position comes with competitive compensation, including a weekly pay range of $1,496-$1,510, with housing assistance and a sign-on style of support that may apply, as well as the potential for contract extensions that align with hospital needs and your career goals. While the stated hours are not guaranteed (Guaranteed Hours: 0.0), you’ll benefit from transparent scheduling and a consistent workflow across assignments, with final compensation packages confirmed during the hiring process. Note that all pay rates and hours are estimates and may vary by facility and shift.
This opportunity also emphasizes transformative support and growth. The company is dedicated to empowering its staff by providing robust onboarding, ongoing education, and clear pathways for career advancement within neonatal medicine and critical care nursing. You’ll have access to 24/7 support while traveling with the company, ensuring you’re never navigating a complex shift alone, no matter where you’re posted. You’ll find a collaborative, supportive environment that values your clinical judgment, encourages leadership development, and recognizes the resilience and expertise you bring to NICU care. The organization also highlights a commitment to a positive work culture, where safety, patient advocacy, and compassionate care remain central to daily practice, and where your professional voice contributes to system-wide improvements.
