Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Job

Monterey, CA
Contracted
Cypress Ridge Care Center
Mid Level
Step into a rewarding role as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Monterey, California, where your clinical expertise and compassionate approach can transform daily living for adults and children alike. This is more than a job—it's a chance to shape meaningful moments, rediscovering independence one session at a time. In Monterey, you’ll collaborate with therapists, physicians, and families in a supportive, forward-thinking environment that champions evidence-based practice, creativity in problem-solving, and patient-centered outcomes. As you contribute to meaningful rehabilitation, you’ll also have the chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of California’s coast. Picture sunsets along the Pacific, the scenic 17-Mile Drive, the charm of Cannery Row, and the majesty of nearby Point Lobos—places that refresh your perspective and inspire the care you provide. And here’s a note: the state offers a wealth of outdoor experiences and community events that complement your professional life, providing balance as you grow.

Working in Monterey means joining a well-resourced setting with access to modern therapy equipment, collaborative teams, and a patient population that reflects the diverse character of California. You’ll benefit from the appeal of a coastal location that combines high-quality clinical practice with a unique lifestyle—hiking trails, coastal towns, farm-to-table cuisine, and cultural events. If you’re drawn to travel opportunities, this assignment can also open doors to working in various locations across the U.S., offering you broader experiences while maintaining a base of excellence in your core practice. You’ll gain exposure to a continuum of care across outpatient, inpatient, and skilled nursing environments, enabling you to expand your competencies in adaptive equipment, activities of daily living, and functional mobility. The role is structured to support your professional journey, with mentorship, ongoing education resources, and pathways to increase responsibility as you demonstrate clinical leadership.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will center on developing, implementing, and updating individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising therapists and the broader rehabilitation team. You’ll conduct patient evaluations, measure outcomes, and adjust interventions to maximize functional gains; document progress with precision for compliance and reimbursement; educate patients and families on home programs and safety strategies; and participate in team conferences to align goals with overall discharge plans. You’ll facilitate therapeutic activities that foster strength, coordination, cognition, and endurance, while applying evidence-based modalities to optimize participation in daily tasks and meaningful occupations. You’ll also contribute to program development by identifying opportunities for process improvements, sharing best practices with colleagues, and supporting new staff through onboarding and coaching. This assignment provides 38 guaranteed hours per week, with a competitive weekly pay range of 1,298 to 1,331 dollars, and a structured schedule designed to support consistent patient contact and meaningful outcomes. Start date is 01/26/2026, and the duration is Weeks, with extension opportunities depending on performance, site needs, and patient volume. Please note: The hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.

Beyond clinical duties, you’ll enjoy comprehensive support designed to keep you thriving on the road. The company offers 24/7 assistance for traveling professionals, ensuring you have real-time help with housing, travel logistics, and clinical questions wherever your assignment takes you. A sign-on bonus, housing assistance, and the potential for contract extensions underscore the value placed on your expertise and your contributions to patient care. You’ll be part of an organization that prioritizes stability and growth, with clear pathways for professional development, credentialing support, and opportunities to expand your scope within occupational therapy, including specialty certifications and cross-disciplinary collaboration. This commitment to empowerment means you’ll receive mentorship, performance feedback, and leadership development designed to accelerate your career while maintaining an outstanding work-life balance.

Our company values a culture of respect, opportunity, and wellness. We believe in empowering our staff to reach their full potential through ongoing education, constructive feedback, and a collaborative environment where every voice matters. You’ll find a supportive network that encourages you to set ambitious professional goals and provides the resources to achieve them.
