Role Specifics and Benefits
- Key Responsibilities: As a Histology Tech on this assignment, you’ll receive, log, and prepare tissue specimens for processing; perform embedding, microtomy, and staining procedures; prepare and label slides for pathologist review; conduct routine quality control checks to ensure slide integrity, staining consistency, and artifact minimization. You’ll monitor instrument performance, troubleshoot issues, and document results in compliance with CAP/CLIA standards. You’ll assist with special stains and immunohistochemistry as needed, maintain equipment and supply inventory, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in continuous quality improvement activities. Collaboration with pathologists, lab technologists, and ancillary staff will be key as you contribute to accurate diagnoses and timely reporting.
