Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Great Barrington, MA
Contracted
Fairview Hospital
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal role that blends clinical excellence with compassionate, patient-centered care as a Travel Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery. You’ll guide families through some of life’s most meaningful moments, delivering expert support, evidence-based practice, and steady leadership when every moment matters. Picture shaping birth experiences across Massachusetts and beyond, expanding your clinical horizons in diverse units and communities, and savoring the professional growth that comes with exposure to a spectrum of obstetric care environments. Massachusetts is a state of striking contrasts—from the quiet, leafy hills of the Berkshires to vibrant urban neighborhoods and scenic coastlines—providing a backdrop that fuels both your science and your spirit. After your shifts, you’ll find opportunities to explore scenic landscapes, world-class arts, and a food scene that ranges from farm-to-table eateries to coastal specialties, making each assignment a unique chapter in your career journey.

Location Benefits
Great Barrington places you in the heart of the Berkshires, a region celebrated for its small-town warmth, outdoor splendor, and access to cultural treasures, farms, and farm-to-table dining. You’ll be part of a community hospital environment that values teamwork, evidence-based practices, and patient-family-centered care. The area offers hiking, skiing, museums, music, and festivals—ideal for unwinding between shifts and recharging for the next assignment. For those who crave broader horizons, the role also offers the opportunity to work in various locations across the U.S., allowing you to experience different patient populations, practice settings, and regional healthcare flavors. Our travel program supports smooth transitions with housing assistance, curated housing options near your assignment, and a dedicated support team available around the clock to address any needs, questions, or emergencies during your travel.

Role Specifics and Benefits
Your primary responsibilities will center on labor, delivery, cesarean-or-procedure readiness, and postpartum care, with a focus on safety, family education, and excellence in outcomes. Key duties include continuous fetal monitoring and interpretation, preparing for high-risk deliveries, expediting neonatal resuscitation when needed, administering medications and therapeutics per protocol, managing perioperative processes, assisting with anesthesia teams, performing routine assessments, and ensuring strict adherence to infection control and safety standards. You’ll coordinate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatal teams, anesthesia, and nursing leadership to optimize maternal and newborn outcomes, while also supporting patient families through education, emotional support, and care planning. This role offers clear pathways for professional growth: pursue specialty certifications (such as NRP/ACLS), assume preceptor or charge nurse responsibilities, and participate in ongoing education that deepens your obstetric expertise. In addition to competitive compensation, you’ll have access to a signing bonus where applicable, comprehensive housing assistance or stipends, and flexible extension opportunities that allow you to stay longer in high-demand locations or rotate to new settings. You’ll be supported by a robust, 24/7 travel program team that provides real-time guidance, onboarding, clinical resources, and on-call backup so you’re never without a trusted partner while you’re on assignment.

We are committed to empowering our nursing staff by providing a culture that prizes professional development, mentorship, and a supportive, inclusive work environment.
