Burlington blends outdoor recreation with cultural richness—seasonal opportunities for hiking, skiing, boating, and exploring local farms and farm-to-table dining. The cost of living remains approachable relative to many other travel destinations, and the area provides a supportive, patient-centered healthcare environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and professional pride. Role Specifics and Benefits:
As a CVOR RN on assignment, you’ll be integral to the perioperative team, guiding and executing high-stakes cardiovascular procedures with scrupulous attention to sterile technique, patient safety, and efficient workflow. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: preparing ORs with meticulous instrumentation and equipment checks; assisting surgeons as the circulator and scrub nurse during CABG, valve repairs/replacements, aneurysm repairs, and other cardiovascular operations; maintaining sterile fields, ensuring accurate counts, managing hemodynamic monitoring devices, and facilitating seamless patient transitions from anesthesia to the ICU or PACU. You’ll collaborate closely with anesthesia providers, perfusion teams, surgeons, and nurses across the perioperative continuum, ensuring clear communication, accurate documentation, and proactive problem solving. Your role also encompasses post-op handoff accuracy, patient education regarding recovery expectations, and continuity of care with the broader CV program.
This assignment emphasizes professional growth within the CVOR specialty. You’ll have opportunities to expand your expertise across complex procedures, participate in case reviews, and engage in continuing education that aligns with cardiovascular nursing best practices. Benefits are designed to support you comprehensively.
