Step into a rewarding journey as a Travel Physical Therapy Assistant, specializing in orthopedic care, where your hands-on expertise helps patients regain mobility, rebuild strength, and reclaim independence. In this role you’ll translate expert knowledge into compassionate, practical therapy that sparks confidence and accelerates recovery. Imagine guiding patients through targeted exercises, gait training, and manual techniques that reduce pain and restore function, while you explore different communities and make a lasting impact on countless lives. This is more than a assignment—it’s a meaningful path to shape the future of healing, one patient at a time. And as you embark on this adventure, you’ll discover the beauty and diversity of New Jersey—the Garden State—with its coastal parks, historic towns, and scenic inland trails; from Rutgers University’s buzzing campus energy to charming river towns, and then on to new horizons across the United States, where every assignment broadens your clinical perspective and enriches your professional journey.
Located in Piscataway, New Jersey, this opportunity places you in a thriving hub known for a strong healthcare community, easy access to top medical facilities, and proximity to cultural and natural attractions. Piscataway is conveniently nestled between larger cities, offering the benefits of a close-knit community with convenient access to parks, recreational spaces, dining, and educational resources. The chance to rotate through different sites across the U.S.—while starting from this welcoming base—provides a distinctive blend of stability and discovery. Working in Piscataway grants you exposure to a diverse patient population, collaborative teams, and a setting that fosters growth through hands-on practice and close mentorship. You’ll enjoy the appeal of local amenities, while the broader program opens doors to experiences in a variety of clinical environments, from bustling metropolitan centers to serene suburban clinics, each with its own patient mix and clinical challenges that sharpen your orthopedic acumen.
As a Travel Physical Therapy Assistant, you will partner with licensed physical therapists to deliver comprehensive orthopedic care. Your key responsibilities will include implementing individualized treatment plans, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, balance and gait training, functional mobility activities, and pain management strategies. You’ll assist with manual therapies within your scope, monitor patient responses, document progress in patient records, and adjust activities under clinician direction to maximize outcomes. You’ll play a pivotal role in education—empowering patients and families with strategies for continued practice at home, injury prevention, and safe fall mitigation. The role offers substantial professional growth: you’ll gain exposure to postoperative rehabilitation, sports-related injuries, spine and joint conditions, and progressive care pathways that expand your clinical toolkit. The position includes a competitive compensation package with weekly pay ranging from $1,190 to $1,260, a steady guaranteed 35 hours per week, and a contractual start date of 01/12/2026 for a program measured in Weeks. You’ll also have access to extension opportunities that recognize your skill, reliability, and the impact you bring to patients and teams.
This assignment includes substantial benefits designed to support your success and peace of mind. In addition to a competitive pay rate, you’ll receive housing assistance to ease relocation and living arrangements, reducing logistical stress as you transition between assignments. A sign-on or performance-based bonus recognizes your commitment and helps you maximize your earnings while you stay focused on patient care. The extension opportunities allow you to continue advancing within the program, supporting ongoing professional development and consistency for patients who rely on your expertise. You’ll also benefit from robust travel support and continuous access to 24/7 assistance as you travel with the company, ensuring you’re never alone when you encounter new sites, time zone changes, or clinical questions on the road. The comprehensive support network is designed to help you thrive—whether you’re navigating site-specific protocols, adjusting to new care teams, or coordinating with scheduling and reimbursement specialists to optimize your practice.
Our company values empowerment, collaboration, and advancement. We are committed to nurturing your career trajectory, providing mentorship, training opportunities, and a respectful environment where your clinical judgment and compassionate care are valued. The program emphasizes professional development through access to continuing education, skill-building sessions, and opportunities to advance into lead roles or expanded duties as you demonstrate excellence in patient outcomes. You’ll join a supportive community that respects your expertise, encourages initiative, and prioritizes work-life balance, recognizing that your well-being fuels the high-quality care you deliver every day. We believe the best care emerges when skilled professionals feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow—together.
