As a Med Surg RN in this travel assignment, you’ll be responsible for delivering comprehensive inpatient care to adult medical-surgical patients, with a focus on safety, comfort, and timely recovery. Core responsibilities include initiating and adjusting individualized care plans, performing thorough patient assessments, administering medications and treatments, managing IV therapy and monitoring devices, and recognizing early signs of deterioration. You’ll participate in wound care, pain management, intake and output tracking, and post-operative surveillance, while coordinating with physicians, case managers, physical therapy, nutrition, social work, and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions home or to next-care settings. Documentation will be precise, compliant, and timely within the electronic health record, with strict adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and evidence-based nursing standards.
