Travel Registered Nurse Psych Job
Pittsfield, MA
Contracted
Berkshire Medical Center
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal role as a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Psychiatry, delivering compassionate care in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, with a start date of January 5, 2026. This is your opportunity to merge clinical excellence with transformative mental health support, guiding patients through challenging journeys while embracing the rich character of Western Massachusetts. As a Travel RN in Psychiatry, you’ll impact individuals, families, and teams—creating safer environments, fostering recovery, and advancing your expertise in a dynamic, mission-driven setting. Throughout the assignment, you’ll also enjoy the chance to explore diverse locations across the United States, broadening your clinical perspective and professional trajectory.
Nestled in the scenic Berkshire Hills, Pittsfield offers a compelling blend of outdoor beauty and cultural charm. Imagine mornings on sunlit trails around Mount Greylock, afternoons exploring local galleries and theaters, and evenings savoring farm-to-table cuisine. The Berkshires showcase vibrant fall foliage, peaceful rivers, and accessible nature trails, all while continuing to provide excellent medical care to the community. Living here means immersive access to Massachusetts’ renowned heritage, easy day trips to historic Boston or coastal getaways, and a welcoming environment that supports your personal and professional growth. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to work in various locations across the U.S., expanding your clinical horizons, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and experiencing the nuances of different patient populations and hospital cultures.
Role specifics and benefits are designed to maximize your impact and your development. In psychiatry, you’ll contribute to inpatient units and crisis stabilization settings, conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, developing individualized care plans, and coordinating with physicians, social workers, and case managers to ensure safe, evidence-based interventions. You’ll apply de-escalation techniques, monitor medications, manage safety and risk assessments, document thoroughly in electronic health records, and support discharge planning and community linkage. Your clinical duties will include therapeutic communication with adults and/or adolescents, crisis intervention, and collaborative care planning that respects cultural, social, and familial contexts. Beyond direct patient care, you’ll have access to structured professional growth: specialty certifications, targeted continuing education, leadership tracks, and opportunities to precept or mentor junior staff, all within a supportive organizational framework. The role offers competitive compensation, including a weekly pay range of $2,294–$2,474, as well as housing assistance to ease relocation and temporary housing needs. We also provide extension opportunities for ongoing assignments, allowing you to deepen relationships within teams and communities while advancing your career. A completion bonus and performance-based incentives may be available, depending on assignment terms. A robust, 24/7 support system accompanies you while traveling with the company, ensuring help is available whenever you need it, wherever you are. In addition to clinical supports, you’ll have access to comprehensive benefits, travel and housing stipends, and resources designed to help balance professional obligations with personal well-being.
Our company values a culture of empowerment and advancement. We are committed to nurturing your career in psychiatry by offering mentorship, structured skill development, and clear pathways for progression. We believe in a supportive environment that respects your expertise, values your input, and encourages you to lead with compassion and clinical excellence. You’ll work within teams that prioritize patient-centered care, integrity, and continuous improvement, with systems in place to enable you to deliver high-quality care while maintaining work-life balance. Whether you’re growing clinical competencies, pursuing advanced certifications, or taking on leadership responsibilities, you’ll find ample opportunities to evolve within a company that recognizes and rewards dedication.
