Role Specifics and Benefits:
As a Med Surg RN, your responsibilities will include comprehensive patient assessment and ongoing monitoring, prioritizing safety and comfort; implementing treatment plans, adjusting care based on evolving conditions, and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions from admission to discharge; administering medications, including IV therapies, while adhering to evidence-based protocols and hospital policies; performing wound care, drips, telemetry oversight, and pre/post-operative care when relevant; educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and red flags; documenting meticulously in electronic health records; and facilitating discharge planning and follow-up communications. You will have opportunities to advance within the specialty—pursue certifications, participate in quality improvement initiatives, mentor newer nurses, and assume charge or lead roles as you gain experience.
