Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Clearlake, CA
Contracted
Adventist Health- Clear Lake
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative nursing journey as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery in California’s scenic Clearlake region, where every shift is an opportunity to shape hopeful beginnings and support families at one of life’s most meaningful moments. In this role, you’ll blend clinical excellence with compassionate care, guiding laboring patients through the journey of birth while collaborating with obstetricians, midwives, and neonatal teams to ensure safe deliveries and positive postpartum experiences. Imagine the impact of your skills as you advocate for mothers and babies, inspire confidence in families, and mentor newer teammates who look to you for guidance. Beyond the bedside, you’ll discover a state whose beauty ranges from serene lake vistas and redwood forests to wine country escapes and the Sierra foothills—places that invite exploration during downtime and offer a restorative backdrop to the demanding pace of labor and delivery care.

Location benefits extend beyond Clearlake to a network of locations across the U.S., opening doors to diverse clinical environments, patient populations, and professional collaborations. Clearlake’s welcoming community offers outdoor recreation, boating, hiking, and easy access to Northern California’s coastline and parks, all of which support work-life balance and ongoing wellness. For those who crave variety, the opportunity to work in multiple locations across the country presents a unique chance to broaden your obstetric competencies, experience different hospital cultures, and build a robust professional portfolio, while still receiving consistent support and a clear pathway for growth within our organization. This means you can cultivate expertise in standard labor and delivery protocols as well as high-risk obstetric scenarios, neonatal resuscitation, and postpartum care, all while enjoying the freedom to explore U.S. destinations that inspire your professional and personal passions.

In this role, your primary responsibilities include providing expert nursing care to laboring patients—from admission assessment, continuous fetal monitoring, and labor progress evaluation to pain management, delivery assistance, and immediate newborn care. You will coordinate with obstetric teams, monitor maternal vital signs, assist with cesarean deliveries when indicated, support lactation and newborn feeding, and deliver culturally competent education to families about postpartum recovery, newborn care, warning signs, and newborn screening. The position emphasizes continuous professional growth within the Labor and Delivery specialty, with pathways to expand your scope of practice through certifications, advanced obstetric training, and mentorship opportunities. You’ll have access to a comprehensive benefits package designed to attract top talent, including a competitive pay structure (weekly pay ranges from $2,486 to $2,660), a potential signing bonus, housing assistance to ease transitions to new locations, and the flexibility of extension opportunities to extend your contract based on performance, staffing needs, and personal preference. We also provide extensive support for traveling clinicians—24/7 assistance from a dedicated team available to address housing, credentialing, orientation, or any on-the-ground needs as you navigate assignments across the country.

Our organization is grounded in a set of core values designed to empower staff and cultivate a nurturing, high-performance work environment. We are committed to your career advancement, offering structured development plans, access to continuing education credits, and opportunities to assume lead roles on units as you demonstrate expertise and leadership. You will work within a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, patient-centered care, and a culture of safety that protects patients and clinicians alike. The environment emphasizes open communication, transparent feedback, and a supportive network of peers and supervisors who celebrate your milestones and help you reach your professional goals.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your L&D nursing career, this assignment offers an exciting chance to contribute to exceptional obstetric care while enjoying the advantages of a flexible, well-supported travel role. You’ll be part of a company that understands the demands of travel nursing and provides robust resources, including 24/7 support, to ensure you feel secure, valued, and empowered no matter where your assignment takes you. Begin this journey with a start date of January 5, 2026, on a multi-week contract with room for extension based on mutual interest and unit needs. Your clinical impact will extend far beyond the delivery room as you mentor colleagues, advocate for families, and partner with hospitals to elevate standards of care wherever your travels take you.

Ready to join a dynamic network that prioritizes your expertise, your growth, and your well-being? Apply today to become part of a company that recognizes your contributions and is committed to helping you develop a thriving, long-lasting nursing career in Labor and Delivery.
