- Deliver direct patient care on a med-surg unit, including comprehensive assessments, developing and updating care plans, medication administration, and monitoring for changes in condition.
- Execute post-operative and medical-surgical care plans, manage acute symptoms, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers to optimize recovery.
- Provide patient and family education to promote understanding, adherence, and safe transitions from hospital to home.
- Uphold safety, infection control, documentation, and regulatory compliance, while modeling professional behavior for teammates.
- Seek growth within Med Surg through cross-training, quality improvement projects, and potential clinical leadership or precepting roles for new staff.
