Amsterdam, NY
Contracted
St. Mary's Healthcare - Davin
Mid Level
Take a leadership role in ICU travel nursing where every shift matters and every patient’s outcome is shaped by your expertise. As an ICU Registered Nurse on a dynamic travel assignment, you’ll bring critical care excellence to high-acuity units while embracing the variety and growth that comes with working across locations. You’ll partner with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize the most complex cases, implement evidence-based practices, and guide families through challenging moments with empathy and clarity. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to magnify your impact, refine advanced hemodynamic and ventilatory skills, and inspire peers through mentorship and collaborative care. In the heart of this opportunity lies the chance to serve in New York and Amsterdam, New York, balancing the fast pace of major medical hubs with the tranquil, historic charm of smaller communities. Imagine contributing to lifesaving care in state-of-the-art facilities, then unwinding in places where culture, history, and natural beauty intersect—from the bright lights of urban centers to the scenic lanes of upstate towns. New York offers a mosaic of experiences for a clinician who values both professional challenge and personal wellbeing, with diverse patient populations and hospital networks that push you to grow while you protect and restore vitality every day.

Location Benefits: This single contract opens doors to facilities across New York and Amsterdam, New York, while also maintaining the flexibility to explore additional assignments in select U.S. locations. Working in New York means access to some of the nation’s top cardiac, neuro, trauma, and multisystem ICUs, with engineers and clinicians collaborating at the highest levels of care. In New York City and surrounding regions, you’ll encounter a broad spectrum of cases, state-of-the-art equipment, and innovative protocols that keep you on the cutting edge. Amsterdam, NY offers a more intimate setting with close-knit teams, where your travel experience brings urgent care expertise to community hospitals and regional centers. The beauty of this arrangement is twofold: you gain exposure to varied patient demographics and clinical philosophies, while enjoying the stability and predictable routines that come with guaranteed hours. You’ll also be part of a nationwide program that supports seamless travel between assignments, expansive housing resources, and a culture that celebrates your professional curiosity and personal independence. The New York landscape—from the Hudson River valley to the Adirondack foothills and the Erie Canal corridor—provides plentiful opportunities to recharge between shifts, explore local cuisine, and connect with communities you’ll help heal.

Role Specifics and Benefits: As an ICU RN, your core responsibilities include continuous patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, complex medication administration, rapid response leadership, and adherence to strict infection control standards. You’ll interpret arterial and central line data, titrate vasoactive infusions, perform daily rounds with physicians and the care team, and deliver precise plans for weaning and escalation. You’ll champion family communication, translate clinical information for patients and families, and document changes in patient status with meticulous accuracy. The role offers substantial professional growth: you can expand your scope through leadership opportunities such as charge nurse responsibilities, unit mentoring for less-experienced travelers, or stepping into specialty clinics and education roles within ICU teams. We emphasize ongoing skill advancement in ECMO, CRRT, advanced neurocritical care protocols, and multi-organ support—areas where your clinical judgment will directly shape outcomes and patient trajectories.

Competitive Benefits: This position features a competitive weekly pay range of $2,298–$2,527, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. The package also includes a meaningful bonus structure, housing assistance to minimize relocation stress, and clear extension opportunities so you can build continuity in your professional journey. You’ll receive comprehensive support through every step of your travel—24/7 access to a dedicated clinical liaison, emergency assistance, and a robust travel operations team that coordinates shift coverage, licensing, and onboarding. Our program values your time and expertise, so you’ll have access to continuous education resources, evidence-based practice updates, and opportunities to earn additional credentials that strengthen your ICU leadership profile. The integrated support network ensures you’re never alone on the road, with practical help for housing, transportation, and cultural acclimation as you settle into new assignments.
