Delta County Memorial Hospital
Mid Level
Step into the operating room as a Surgical Tech and become a pivotal partner in patient care. This unique posting in Delta, Colorado places you at the heart of life-saving procedures, where your expertise in sterile technique, instrument handling, and teamwork directly influences outcomes. You’ll work alongside surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia professionals to prepare, assist, and ensure seamless, safe operations from the first incision to the final closure. In this role, your precision, vigilance, and calm under pressure will empower the entire surgical team to deliver the highest standard of care. If you take pride in accuracy, speed, and compassionate patient focus, this is an opportunity to grow your career while making a meaningful impact every day. And while you serve in this beautiful corner of Colorado, you’ll also have the chance to explore the remarkable landscapes that define the state—creating a rewarding balance between professional fulfillment and outdoor inspiration.
Colorado’s western slope is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and outdoor allure. Delta offers a welcoming community vibe, easy access to outdoor adventures, and a gateway to some of the state’s most striking natural places. From the dramatic red rock canyons to the rolling foothills and expansive skies, Colorado invites you to unwind after shifts with hikes, bike rides, or scenic drives. When you’re ready to broaden your horizons, the opportunity to work in various locations across the U.S. expands your professional radius, exposing you to different hospital cultures, equipment, and surgical teams. This combination of a stable local assignment with the flexibility of nationwide travel means you can build a diverse resume, broaden your clinical confidence, and cultivate a network that spans the country—while keeping the roots and community you value in Colorado.
In this role, your core responsibilities will anchor daily surgical operations and patient safety. You’ll meticulously prepare the sterile field, set up instruments and implants, and verify counts with precision before, during, and after procedures. You’ll pass instruments, handle specimen labeling, and anticipate the surgeon’s needs to maintain workflow without compromising sterility. Your role also includes assisting with draping, instrument decontamination, and room turnover to keep the OR ready for the next case. You’ll monitor sterile technique, maintain ppe protocols, and collaborate with circulators and others to uphold safety standards. Beyond technical tasks, you’ll contribute to professional growth by seeking opportunities to learn specialized techniques, support complex cases, and adapt to varied surgical specialties across assignments. This position supports you with well-defined pathways for skill expansion and ongoing competency development. The benefits align with a competitive travel package, including a guaranteed 40 hours per week, a weekly pay range of $1,632-$1,677, and the potential for extension opportunities that keep you advancing in your field. Start date is March 17, 2026, and duration is measured in weeks, with housing assistance and a comprehensive support network designed to help you thrive on the road. A dedicated team provides 24/7 support while you travel, ensuring you’re never navigating challenges alone and enabling you to focus on delivering exceptional care.
The company’s values reflect a deep commitment to empowering staff. You’ll find a culture that champions career advancement, personalized mentorship, and a supportive work environment where your voice matters. Expect resources that help you stay current with best practices, access to continuing education, and a collaborative atmosphere where experienced colleagues share insights and guidance. The emphasis on professional development means your skill set can grow from the basics of sterile technique to broader roles within perioperative teams, with pathways that reward initiative, reliability, and continuous learning. In practice, this means structured feedback, clear goals, and opportunities to extend assignments or transition into more advanced perioperative roles as you demonstrate readiness. The organization prides itself on recognizing the value you bring to patient care and invests in your long-term success, resilience, and work-life balance.
If you’re excited to join a company that values your expertise and is dedicated to your growth, this is your moment. Delta, Colorado, offers a community you can feel good about returning to after a rewarding day in the OR, while the broader travel opportunities open doors to new communities, hospitals, and clinical experiences across the nation.
