Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Columbia, MO
Contracted
Boone Health
Mid Level
Take the next step in your nursing career as a Registered Nurse specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Columbia, Missouri. This is more than a contract—it’s a chance to shape patient journeys, bring comfort to families, and sharpen your critical care skills in a supportive, high‑performing team. In PCU, you’ll balance vigilance with compassion, guiding patients through delicate recoveries and transitions while collaborating with physicians, patients’ families, and an interdisciplinary team. Beginning January 6, 2026, this multi‑week assignment offers guaranteed hours of 36 per week, with weekly earnings in the range of $1,992 to $2,078, reflecting your expertise and dedication.
Columbia sits in central Missouri, a dynamic college town with a welcoming vibe, renowned medical resources, and easy access to outdoor adventures. You can settle into a thriving community with excellent schools, cultural events, and a robust restaurant and craft‑brew scene. Explore Missouri’s natural beauty—trek the bluffs of the Missouri River, stroll along the Katy Trail, or unwind at nearby state parks. From the shimmering lakes to forested trails and classic small‑town festivals, Missouri offers moments of quiet reflection and vibrant experiences after shifts. This assignment also opens possibilities to work in other locations across the U.S., enriching your career with diverse settings and patient populations while keeping you rooted in quality, patient‑centered care.
In PCU you’ll deliver continuous, evidence‑based care to mixed‑acuity medical‑surgical patients requiring close monitoring, telemetry, and timely interventions. Core responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, trending clinical data, and dynamic care planning; administering medications, coordinating post‑op and medical treatment, and communicating clearly with patients and families. You’ll collaborate with charge nurses, case managers, and physicians to coordinate transitions and discharge planning. This role supports professional growth through access to specialty education, simulation labs, and opportunities to pursue certification in progressive care or critical care pathways. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a sign‑on bonus, housing assistance, and the potential for extension into additional shifts or locations. You’ll have a dedicated, 24/7 support network from the travel program, ensuring travel logistics, credentialing, and clinical questions are answered promptly, so you can focus on patient care and your own development. The program emphasizes mentorship and advancement, with pathways to roles in leadership, education, or specialty practice as you accumulate experience.
Our partner healthcare team is built on empowerment, inclusion, and a commitment to helping staff grow. We provide a supportive environment where clinicians gain autonomy within evidence‑based practice, while knowing extensive backup from a national network of clinical coordinators, educators, and operatives. If you’re ready to expand your horizons, improve outcomes, and join a community that values your expertise, apply now. A journey with us means more than a paycheck; it’s a stepping stone to broader clinical impact, ongoing learning, and a career that travels as far as your ambition takes you.
