Templeton, CA
Contracted
Adventist - Twin Cities
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery, where every moment matters and your expertise shapes the beginning of families’ journeys. In the sunny embrace of Templeton, California, you’ll bring clinical excellence, compassionate care, and the calm leadership essential to high-stakes obstetric environments. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to influence outcomes, mentor teammates, and grow your specialty in a setting that blends suburban charm with proximity to the broader California coast and wine country. Picture delivering care that respects both the science and the human story behind birth, while soaking in the beauty of the Central Coast—where rolling hills meet the Pacific, vineyards line scenic routes, and outdoor adventures are never far away. Should you crave broader experiences, this role also offers opportunities to work in diverse locations across the United States, expanding your professional horizons while you contribute to outstanding obstetric care wherever you go.

Templeton is a welcoming community that balances a close-knit, supportive atmosphere with convenient access to larger medical centers in nearby San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. Enjoy a high quality of life, easy weekend getaways along the coast, and a setting that values work–life balance as you deliver exceptional perinatal service. The position also provides the option to explore different sites across the country, allowing you to experience varied patient populations, facility protocols, and interdisciplinary collaboration that enriches your practice and keeps you engaged in ongoing learning. With this assignment, you’ll begin your journey on 01/26/2026 for a period measured in weeks, with weekly compensation ranging from $2,564 to $2,720, and the flexibility to extend based on performance, hospital needs, and your professional goals.

In this role, you’ll serve as the front line of labor and delivery care, guiding laboring patients through evidence-based management and compassionate support. Your responsibilities will include continuous fetal monitoring, assessment of maternal and fetal well-being, and rapid response to clinical changes. You’ll administer medications and anesthesia-related support within established protocols, assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and provide expert postpartum care and newborn transition support. You’ll collaborate closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, nurses, and support staff to ensure safe, timely deliveries and smooth patient flow. You’ll educate patients and families about labor, pain management options, newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery, while upholding rigorous safety, infection control, and quality improvement standards. This role offers ongoing professional growth within the L&D specialty, with access to certifications, cross-training opportunities, and leadership development as you demonstrate clinical excellence and a collaborative spirit.

The package is designed to be competitive and supportive. You’ll benefit from a sign-on bonus where applicable, housing assistance to ease transitions between assignments, and the potential for contract extensions that align with your career trajectory and the facility’s needs. Our program emphasizes comprehensive, around-the-clock support for traveling clinicians: you’ll have 24/7 assistance from a dedicated team, ensuring you have clinical backup, logistical guidance, and immediate help whenever you need it. The combination of robust clinical exposure, steady mentorship, and a network of peers makes it possible to refine your practice, expand your skill set (from high-risk obstetrics to cesarean delivery protocols and neonatal stabilization), and bring confidence to every patient encounter. And because this is a travel opportunity, you’ll have the chance to engage with a broad spectrum of patient populations, facilities, and care models, all while maintaining continuity of care and a sense of professional security through our support framework.

The company values empowerment, career advancement, and a supportive, inclusive work environment. You’ll join a community that prioritizes your expertise and well-being, offers transparent pathways for growth, and celebrates the unique contributions you bring to obstetric care. The culture here emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and a proactive approach to addressing patient needs, with resources dedicated to helping you succeed—from orientation and ongoing education to leadership exposure and performance recognition. Whether you’re focused on refining evidence-based clinical skills, pursuing advanced perinatal certifications, or taking on mentorship roles for newer nurses, you’ll find a platform that values your professional development and respects your personal goals.
