Step into a demanding, high-impact CCU nursing role as a Registered Nurse in Chico, California, where every shift offers you a chance to shape outcomes for critically ill patients while advancing your specialty skills. This dedicated CCU assignment starts on 11/19/2025 and runs for a series of weeks, with guaranteed hours designed to provide stability and focus. You’ll be part of a capable team delivering precision care for complex cardiovascular and respiratory cases, mastering ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive infusions, and rapid-response decision making. Expect a supportive environment that values your expertise and invites you to grow through continued learning, simulation, and collaboration with skilled physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and bedside colleagues. Weekly pay ranges from $1,573 to $1,692, with a guaranteed 36.0 hours, ensuring dependable compensation as you immerse yourself in the CCU pace and demands.
California’s Chico offers a compelling backdrop for your professional journey. Nestled at the edge of the Sierra Nevada foothills, this vibrant city blends historic charm with outdoor adventure. You’ll enjoy easy access to lush parks, scenic trails, and opportunities to unwind after intense shifts in Bidwell Park, along the Sacramento River, or at nearby Lake Oroville. The state’s varied landscapes—rolling vineyards, coastal escapes within a few hours’ drive, and the awe-inspiring Sierra vista—provide refreshing weekend escapes and a sense of wonder that fuels resilience. If you ever crave broader clinical exposure, this program also offers the opportunity to work across multiple locations within the U.S., expanding your CCU repertoire while you experience new communities and hospital cultures. Beyond the clinical setting, you’ll be part of a network that supports you with housing assistance and the chance to extend your assignment based on mutual fit and performance, along with ongoing professional development.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing advanced critical care nursing to CCU patients, including continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring, interpretation of complex telemetry, hemodynamic assessment, arterial and venous line management, and titration of vasoactive medications under physician direction. You’ll participate in patient rounds, develop and implement care plans, supervise and mentor junior staff, and educate families about procedures, prognosis, and post-ICU recovery expectations. You’ll coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize oxygenation, perfusion, and pain control, while maintaining rigorous infection control and sedation protocols. The position emphasizes leadership in care coordination, evidence-based practice, and proactive escalation when patient status changes. You’ll have access to 24/7 support from a dedicated travel healthcare team, ensuring immediate assistance, credentialing help, and streamlined logistics as you travel between assignments or facilities. In addition to competitive compensation, you may qualify for a signing bonus and housing assistance to ease relocation or temporary lodging. There are extension opportunities to deepen your integration within the unit, diversify your case mix, and advance toward clinical leadership tracks as you demonstrate expertise and initiative.
Our company is built on empowering you to grow your career within a supportive, value-driven environment. We’re committed to recognizing your contributions, offering mentorship, structured training, and opportunities to pursue specialty certifications and formal career ladders.
