This specialty-focused opportunity invites you to deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing in high-acuity environments, where your clinical judgment and hands-on skills will directly influence the trajectory of patients navigating complex cardiac events. Imagine guiding post-operative heart patients, managing telemetry, supporting cardiology teams through rapid decision-making, and empowering families with clear, hopeful education. Beyond the clinical impact, this role offers a pathway to broaden your horizons within a nationally recognized program that values expertise, resilience, and continuous learning. And as you step into this journey, you’ll discover the beauty of New York’s landscapes—world-class museums, vibrant city life balanced by serene parks, and the sparkling shores of Lake Ontario—offering inviting weekend escapes and a sense of renewal that complements your demanding profession.

Rochester stands out as a dynamic hub for healthcare professionals, combining robust hospital networks, academic partnerships, and access to cutting-edge cardiac care. You’ll benefit from a supportive community that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and patient-centered outcomes. Working in this location allows you to immerse yourself in a diverse patient population and collaborate with forward-thinking cardiology teams, while enjoying the region’s distinctive blend of urban amenities and scenic Midwest-meets-Northeast charm. For those who crave breadth, our program also provides opportunities to work in various other locations across the United States, expanding your clinical experiences, exposing you to different patient demographics, protocols, and facilities, and enriching your professional portfolio with a wide range of cardiac care settings.

In this role, you will assume key responsibilities central to cardiac nursing excellence. You’ll monitor hemodynamics, interpret telemetry and EKG rhythms, and participate in post-PCI or post-surgical recovery care with vigilance and speed. You’ll administer antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, inotropes, and other critical medications, while maintaining meticulous documentation and ensuring adherence to evidence-based protocols. You’ll collaborate with physicians, case managers, and rehabilitation teams to optimize discharge planning, patient education, and family coaching. You’ll also engage in ongoing professional development, pursuing specialty certifications such as CCRN or appropriate interventional cardiology training, and you’ll seize growth opportunities through cross-training across telemetry units, cath labs, and heart failure programs. Our program supports ample chances to expand responsibilities—mentoring new nurses, leading quality-improvement initiatives, and contributing to protocol enhancements that elevate patient outcomes. The environment is fast-paced yet learning-focused, with structure that encourages curiosity, precision, and compassionate leadership.

Compensation and benefits are designed to recognize your expertise and your desire for stability and adventure. You’ll receive competitive weekly pay in the range of $2,262 to $2,348, reflecting your experience and the complexity of the assignment. Assignments typically run for several weeks, with the potential for extension based on unit needs and your performance. Housing assistance and a comprehensive benefits package are available to support you during travel, along with opportunities for bonuses tied to tenure, performance, or unit-specific goals. We prioritize a safety-first approach and offer robust, 24/7 support for traveling staff, ensuring you’re never navigating challenges alone—whether you’re troubleshooting clinical questions, coordinating with travel coordinators, or seeking urgent assistance during a shift. The role includes the flexibility of assignments that may or may not include guaranteed hours, enabling you to tailor your schedule to your personal plans while maximizing professional impact.
