Role Specifics and Benefits
- Core responsibilities: Deliver direct nursing care to laboring patients, assessing cervical changes, fetal status, and maternal physiologic needs; assist with anesthesia and surgical deliveries as needed; monitor labor progress, vital signs, heart rate patterns, and labor interventions; support with cesarean births and post-anesthesia recovery; provide postpartum care, patient and family education, lactation support, and newborn stabilization as required; coordinate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, and anesthesia teams to ensure safe, timely deliveries; document thoroughly and adhere to evidence-based protocols and hospital policies; participate in safety rounds and quality improvement initiatives; offer emotional and practical support to families during a highly emotional period.
