Waimea, HI
Contracted
Kauai Veteran's Memorial Hospital
Mid Level
Embark on a transformative journey as a Radiology Echo Tech, delivering high-quality echocardiography that shapes diagnoses, guides treatment, and elevates patient care. This travel assignment places you in Waimea, Hawaii, where you can blend professional excellence with the unrivaled beauty of the Aloha State. Picture yourself combining precision imaging with compassionate patient interactions while you explore a culture known for warmth, resilience, and an enduring sense of community. From the verdant landscapes surrounding Waimea to the sparkling Pacific horizons, Hawaii offers inspiration at every turn, inviting you to grow not only as a clinician but as a person who values balance, wellbeing, and connection to nature. Beyond the island’s charm, you’ll be part of a national program that opens doors to diverse experiences across the United States, enriching your career with exposure to varied patient populations, imaging equipment, and clinical pathways.

Location benefits are many. Waimea is a gateway to Big Island wonders—lush valleys, dramatic cliffs, and welcoming neighborhoods that celebrate tradition while embracing innovation in healthcare. The region’s slower pace can foster deliberate, focused patient care, while the prospect of assignments across the U.S. adds momentum to your professional trajectory. Working in Hawaii means you’ll enjoy favorable weather, access to outdoor recreation during days off, and the chance to build lasting relationships with colleagues who share your commitment to excellence. For qualified Echo Techs seeking broader horizons, this role can serve as a stepping stone to opportunities in other communities, giving you the flexibility to choose settings that align with personal and professional goals.

In this role, you’ll perform a comprehensive range of echocardiography services, including transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) support where applicable, and stress echocardiography to inform diagnoses and treatment plans. You’ll optimize image quality, operate advanced ultrasound systems, and apply color Doppler and 3D imaging to capture precise cardiac function assessments. Your duties will involve patient preparation and education, preparing exam protocols, documenting results, and communicating findings clearly to cardiologists and the care team. You’ll contribute to quality control, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety standards, while collaborating with technicians, nurses, and physicians to streamline workflows. This position offers avenues for professional growth within the radiology specialty, including expanding expertise in advanced modalities, protocol development, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Competitive benefits support your focus on growth and stability. The role offers weekly pay in the range of $3,305–$3,480, reflecting your skills, experience, and the market. You may be eligible for a sign-on bonus, housing assistance, and extension opportunities that let you stretch your assignment or transition into longer-term arrangements. Flexible scheduling and a travel-friendly framework ensure you can savor time away from the hospital while still delivering outstanding patient care. In addition, you’ll have access to a comprehensive support network with 24/7 assistance as you travel with the company, ensuring you always have dependable resources, guidance, and a responsive liaison for any needs that arise on assignment. It’s important to note that hours are not guaranteed; the program adapts to patient demand and site requirements, with final hours and compensation confirmed during the hiring process.

The company values empowerment, professional advancement, and a supportive work environment. You’ll join a culture that prioritizes mentorship, continuous learning, and constructive collaboration, helping you grow into a senior imaging clinician or a clinical educator as your interests direct you. The organization understands that thriving in radiology requires more than technical proficiency; it’s about resilience, empathy, communication, and a curious mindset that seeks better ways to serve patients and teams alike. Expect ongoing training, leadership development opportunities, and a network of peers who celebrate achievements and share best practices. The environment is designed to be inclusive, respectful, and focused on sustainable career progression, with resources to support certifications, continuing education, and cross-site learning.

If you’re ready to make an impact while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of Hawaii and the broader travel program, consider this Radiology Echo Tech opportunity.
