- Role and responsibilities: As an ICU RN, you’ll perform continuous patient assessments, monitor hemodynamics, manage critically ill patients on ventilators and vasopressor infusions, respond to rapid changes in status, implement sepsis and shock protocols, and collaborate with physicians, APNs, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists to optimize outcomes. You’ll lead care planning, coordinate family communications with empathy, and ensure adherence to evidence-based practice, safety standards, and next-step planning for recovery or escalation of care.
