Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Watertown, New York, and bring life-saving expertise to patients when they need it most. This multi-week assignment invites you to apply advanced respiratory care in dynamic hospital settings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and shape outcomes for diverse patient populations. In this state celebrated for its natural beauty, you’ll experience professional purpose and scenic inspiration—crisp upstate air, the water and harbor views along Lake Ontario, and the inviting, walkable charm of Watertown. Beyond the immediate clinical impact, this opportunity provides a clear path to broaden your skill set, deepen your clinical confidence, and grow within a supportive network that truly values your contributions. Start date is 03/02/2026, and you’ll enter a structured, purpose-driven schedule designed to optimize both patient care and your professional development.

Watertown offers a compelling backdrop to your clinical work. Nestled near the Thousand Islands and the shoreline of Lake Ontario, the area provides opportunities for restorative downtime after shifts, outdoor recreation, and a strong sense of community. You’ll find affordable living, convenient access to cultural and dining options, and a staff environment that prioritizes teamwork and patient-centered outcomes. For those who welcome variety, this assignment is designed with flexibility in mind—the possibility to extend into additional locations across the United States, exposing you to diverse hospital cultures, patient populations, and care protocols while maintaining continuity of care and your professional trajectory. This combination of a welcoming local setting and broader regional mobility creates a distinctive platform to expand your expertise while enjoying the beauty and rhythm of upstate New York.

In this Respiratory Therapist role, you will lead comprehensive respiratory assessments, tailor and monitor inhaled therapies, administer bronchodilators, mucolytic agents, and other medications as prescribed, and manage oxygen delivery systems, noninvasive ventilation (NIV/CPAP/BiPAP), and invasive ventilator support. You will perform arterial blood gas sampling, interpret results, and use capnography and pulse oximetry to guide treatment decisions. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to optimize patient outcomes, including weaning strategies, airway clearance techniques, chest physiotherapy, and hygiene measures. Your responsibilities also include patient and family education about respiratory therapies, ensuring safety and compliance with infection control practices, and meticulous documentation of care plans in the electronic health record. The position emphasizes ongoing professional growth through clinical mentorship, access to continuing education, and opportunities to deepen specialization within the respiratory care domain. You’ll be empowered to contribute ideas for evidence-based practice improvements and to take the lead on initiatives that enhance patient comfort, safety, and recovery. The package reflects your expertise: a competitive weekly pay range of $1,849 to $2,007, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week, and the potential for contract extensions based on unit needs and performance.

Enhancing the practical and personal benefits, the program includes attractive ancillary advantages designed to support you through the assignment. A signing bonus may be available, and housing assistance is offered to ease transition and ensure you have a comfortable, convenient living arrangement near the hospital. The broader compensation model acknowledges your travel requirements and clinical leadership, with extension opportunities that recognize your reliability, adaptability, and clinical judgment in fast-paced, high-demand environments. You’ll also receive robust support from a dedicated travel and clinical coordination team available 24/7 to address scheduling, credentialing, equipment needs, and any on-site challenges. This comprehensive framework ensures you can focus on delivering exceptional patient care while receiving reliable, responsive guidance at every step of your journey.

You’ll join a forward-thinking organization committed to supporting staff development, promoting clear pathways for career advancement, and fostering a nurturing, inclusive work environment where your expertise is recognized and your well-being is a priority.
