This weeks-long assignment, beginning December 29, 2025, invites you to contribute your expertise now while keeping doors open for future opportunities. Beyond the hospital walls, Oregon’s natural beauty awaits—from the scenic Columbia River Gorge to forested trails, water-sports on glistening rivers, and charming towns that invite restorative weekend escapes. The Dalles sits at the heart of it all, offering a welcoming community atmosphere with modern facilities and easy access to outdoor adventures.

- Role responsibilities: Provide comprehensive critical care nursing in the ICU, including patient assessment, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management and weaning, vasopressor titration, sepsis protocols, and rapid-response execution. Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and bedside teams to implement care plans, monitor for complications, document thoroughly in electronic health records, and communicate clearly with families and multidisciplinary rounds. Maintain patient safety through meticulous infection control, charted progress, and adherence to unit standards. Demonstrate leadership in crisis situations, guiding junior staff, coordinating bed moves, and ensuring smooth handoffs across shifts.
- Professional growth: This assignment offers exposure to a high-acuity population, enabling refinement of critical care skills, leadership capabilities, and opportunities for specialty certification planning within the ICU. You’ll have access to continuing education, mentorship from experienced clinicians, and potential pathways to extended contracts or transitions into other ICU specialties as your interests evolve.
- Benefits: Competitive weekly pay ranging from $1,999 to $2,088, with a structured pathway for performance-based bonuses. Housing assistance is provided to support comfortable, convenient living during your assignment. There are extension opportunities if you wish to prolong your placement and deepen your familiarity with The Dalles or other locations.
