In this role, you’ll evaluate functional abilities, design and implement individualized treatment plans, and partner with clients, families, and a diverse care team to translate goals into real-world progress. Your expertise will empower clients across varied settings to adapt, learn, and thrive, whether refining fine motor skills, enhancing activities of daily living, or facilitating safe home and community participation. Beyond the clinical impact, you’ll experience Vermont’s timeless charm—the tranquil shoreline of Lake Champlain, the rugged beauty of the Green Mountains, and the colorful, inviting small-town atmosphere that makes Newport a wonderful place to grow both personally and professionally. And for a broader horizon, this opportunity can open doors to assignments in multiple locations across the U.S., enriching your practice with new populations, settings, and professional perspectives.
Location Benefits: Newport, Vermont, offers a welcoming community feel with easy access to outdoor adventures, cultural events, and serene landscapes that inspire balance between work and life. The Northeast Kingdom is renowned for its safety, family-friendly charm, and abundant nature—hiking trails, lakeside recreational options, and seasonal foliage that paints the region in unforgettable hues. Vermont also boasts approachable costs of living, strong community networks, and a supportive environment for healthcare professionals. For those who crave variety, there is the opportunity to work in various locations across the United States through our travel program, gaining exposure to different care models, populations, and settings while still enjoying the stability of guaranteed hours and comprehensive support. Your time in Newport will be complemented by proximity to scenic drives, cozy cafés, local farmers’ markets, and year-round activities that make downtime restorative and enriching.
Role Specifics and Benefits: As an Occupational Therapist in this assignment, you will conduct thorough assessments to determine functional limitations and participation barriers, develop comprehensive, measurable treatment plans, and implement OT interventions across inpatient, outpatient, hospital, and community settings. You’ll guide clients through functional retraining, upper-extremity and fine-motor therapy, adaptive equipment recommendations, environmental modifications, and activity modifications to support independence at home and in the community. You’ll document progress, adjust goals as needed, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and family members to ensure coordinated care. There is substantial potential for professional growth within the specialty, including access to continuing education, specialty certifications, and opportunities to expand into areas such as home safety assessments, cognitive rehabilitation, or pediatrics, depending on placement needs and your interests. We offer a competitive overall package designed to recognize your expertise and commitment: a bonus program to reward performance, robust housing assistance to help you settle in smoothly, and extension opportunities for contracts that demonstrate your impact and align with your career goals. You will have ongoing, 24/7 support from a dedicated travel team—our committed professionals are available around the clock to address scheduling, housing, clinical questions, and on-ground logistics—so you can focus on delivering excellent care. Start date is 01/26/2026, with the duration defined in weeks for each assignment, allowing you to plan and balance personal and professional commitments. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process, and all details may vary by location and assignment type.
