Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Long-Term Care Job
Albuquerque, NM
Contracted
Rhb Ctr of Albuquerq
Mid Level
Take the lead in compassionate care as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Long-Term Care in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role places you at the heart of daily life for residents who rely on your skill, warmth, and steady hands. You will assess, support, and empower individuals to maintain dignity and quality of life, guiding them through routines, medications, and emotional well-being. Each shift is an opportunity to mentor families, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and celebrate small victories that brighten days and prolong independence. In this state of breathtaking landscapes—sunlit mesas, red cliffs, and clear desert skies—your work pairs with a chance to unwind in the evenings or weekends exploring the beauty of New Mexico. From the historic charm of Old Town Albuquerque to nearby hiking trails, world-class cuisine, and sunsets that glow over the Sandias, you’ll find inspiration beyond the facility walls. This assignment blends meaningful nursing with a chance to experience a region known for warmth, culture, and resilience.
Location benefits go beyond the clinic floor. Albuquerque offers a welcoming community, affordable living, and a growing network of long-term care facilities where you can sharpen clinical judgment, broaden geriatric care skills, and build lasting relationships with residents and their families. You’ll enjoy a favorable climate with mild winters and abundant sunshine, a thriving arts scene, and easy access to outdoor recreation during time off. The city’s blend of Southwestern heritage and modern amenities creates a stimulating backdrop for professional and personal growth. And because this program is part of a national travel nursing network, you may also have opportunities to work in other U.S. locations, enriching your experience, learning new care protocols, and forming connections with peers across the country.
Role specifics and benefits: As an LPN in Long-Term Care, you’ll play a critical role in comprehensive resident care. Key responsibilities include administering medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring resident status, assisting with activities of daily living, documenting clinical data, and implementing and updating care plans in collaboration with RNs, physicians, therapists, and social services. You’ll help manage pain, support mobility, assist with wound care and nutrition, monitor vital signs, and respond to urgent changes in condition with composure and teamwork. The position also offers opportunities for professional growth within the long-term care specialty, including leadership pathways such as on-site charge nurse responsibilities, mentorship programs, and cross-training in areas like wound care, memory care, palliative support, and rehabilitation coordination. Benefits are designed to reflect your expertise and commitment: competitive weekly pay between $941 and $1,013, a sign-on bonus, housing assistance to ease transition, and potential contract extensions that recognize reliability and performance. You’ll work with a comprehensive support structure that prioritizes your success, including a dedicated nurse supervisor, access to educational resources, and a clear path for credentialing and specialty certifications. Importantly, you’ll have 24/7 support while traveling with the company, including on-call clinical coordination, traveler-centric resources, and a responsive help line to address housing, scheduling, or clinical questions at any hour.
Company values center on empowering staff through opportunities for advancement, a supportive and inclusive work environment, and a commitment to patient-centered care. You’ll join a culture that respects experience, collaborates across disciplines, and prioritizes the well-being of both residents and caregivers. The organization believes in recognizing excellent work, providing constructive feedback, and enabling you to expand your scope of practice while maintaining work-life balance. Expect structured onboarding, regular check-ins, and a community of travel professionals who share tips, stories, and guidance to help you thrive on assignments across the country. This is more than a job—it's a pathway to elevate your clinical impact, develop leadership skills, and contribute to sustained quality of life for some of our most vulnerable populations.
