Embark on a transformative journey as a Registered Nurse specializing in PACU in Hilo, Hawaii, a role designed for professionals who blend clinical precision with compassionate connection. In this assignment, you’ll guide patients from the immediate wake of anesthesia through the critical recovery phase, balancing airway management, pain control, nausea mitigation, vitals surveillance, and early discharge planning. Your expertise will anchor safety, comfort, and trust, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to orchestrate smooth handoffs and confident recoveries. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to shape meaningful moments at the start of the healing process, while expanding your skill set in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. You’ll live and work in a setting that inspires resilience, curiosity, and a service-first mindset, with the stunning backdrop of Hawaii providing a vibrant canvas for personal well-being and professional pride. The assignment begins on 02/09/2026 and runs for several weeks, with opportunities to extend based on performance and facility needs.

Hilo’s unique blend of island charm and professional opportunity makes this location particularly appealing. Expect a community that values collaboration, patient-centered care, and the warmth of Aloha. Beyond the hospital walls, you’ll have access to rainforests, waterfalls, and beaches that invite rejuvenating escapes after shifts. The opportunity to work across the U.S. on subsequent assignments also exists, offering you exposure to varied hospital cultures, patient populations, and clinical protocols. As a PACU RN, you’ll assume responsibility for postoperative assessments, continuous monitoring, cardiovascular and respiratory support, pain and antiemetic management, wound assessment, and timely escalation when needed. You’ll coordinate with anesthesia teams to optimize recovery plans, implement discharge instructions, and educate patients and families about post-anesthesia care. This role emphasizes critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and effective communication, with room for growth into leadership, education, or specialty nursing pathways within the PACU continuum. You’ll benefit from a competitive weekly pay range of $1,908–$1,925, with housing assistance, a supportive bonus structure, and clear pathways for extension opportunities that reward reliability and clinical excellence. While this assignment lists a guaranteed hours figure of 0.0, scheduling is designed to maximize coverage and patient needs, with flexibility and transparency about hours and shifts as you progress through the contract. In addition, you’ll receive comprehensive company support, including 24/7 assistance from a dedicated travel team to ensure your comfort and safety while you travel.
