Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job
Pittsfield, MA
Contracted
Berkshire Medical Center
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal role where care, science, and compassion converge: become a Travel Registered Nurse specialized in Labor and Delivery in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. This is your opportunity to guide families through some of life’s most meaningful moments with clinical excellence, empathy, and leadership. In Pittsfield you’ll be part of a collaborative OB team that blends advanced obstetric protocols with a warm community spirit. Beyond the bedside, explore the natural beauty of the Berkshires—the rolling hills, vibrant autumn foliage, outdoor trails, and cultural offerings—from summer concerts to intimate gallery openings. Massachusetts invites you to experience world-class care alongside a region renowned for its scenic escapes, farm-to-table dining, and a rich blend of small-town charm with metropolitan access. And for those who crave variety, the role offers flexibility to work across multiple locations in the U.S., broadening your professional horizons while maintaining a stable base in Massachusetts.
Location benefits stretch beyond a single hospital. Pittsfield provides a strong, family-centered community with a robust obstetric program, modern labor and delivery suites, and a culture of teamwork that values every member’s expertise. The city sits in easy reach of outdoor adventures—from Mount Greylock’s scenic vistas to nearby lakes and trails—perfect for decompressing after shifts. For travel-focused clinicians, this placement serves as a gateway: you can deepen your practice in a trusted environment while retaining the option to rotate to other facilities nationwide, enriching your clinical repertoire, expanding your network, and embracing diverse patient populations. The Massachusetts setting also means access to exceptional educational resources, strong professional networks, and ongoing mentorship that supports both clinical mastery and career advancement.
As a role in Labor and Delivery, you’ll care for laboring patients, support safe and timely deliveries, and partner closely with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatal teams, and family members. You’ll monitor fetal status, manage labor progress, assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections when indicated, and implement evidence-based pain management and comfort measures. You’ll perform comprehensive maternal and neonatal assessments, lead patient education sessions for expectant families, guide safe discharge planning, and coordinate postpartum care that promotes mother-baby bonding and early parenting confidence. Your clinical responsibilities will be complemented by opportunities to precept or mentor newer staff, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to unit protocols that elevate patient outcomes. This is a role that rewards clinical precision, proactive communication, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Growth opportunities are woven into every shift—from pursuing specialty certifications in obstetric nursing to expanding leadership responsibilities as volumes and acuity evolve. You’ll also engage in ongoing hospital-wide training on patient safety, infection control, and family-centered care, ensuring you stay at the forefront of obstetric best practices.
Compensation includes a competitive weekly pay range of $2,508 to $2,718, reflecting your expertise and the demands of high-acuity obstetric care. Housing assistance is available to ease relocation, and there are extension opportunities that allow you to deepen your ties with the team and build a longer-term presence within the network. In addition to monetary rewards, you’ll receive comprehensive support—from onboarding and orientation through continuous clinical and operational guidance. Travel nurses benefit from 24/7 support while traveling with the company, ensuring that you always have reliable assistance for any scheduling needs, clinical questions, or logistical concerns. A guaranteed hours model is not specified, allowing flexibility to align with patient census and facility requirements, while your contract duration remains defined in weeks, giving you the autonomy to plan personal and professional commitments.
At the core, our company is devoted to empowering nursing professionals. We foster a culture that champions career advancement, recognizes expertise, and cultivates a supportive environment where your voice informs patient care and team dynamics. You’ll join colleagues who share a passion for perinatal health, innovation, and compassionate outreach—values that guide every interaction with patients and families, as well as colleagues across disciplines. The environment is designed to elevate clinicians who are eager to contribute, learn, and lead, with structured opportunities for mentorship, continuing education stipends, and pathways to leadership roles as you gain experience and demonstrate impact.
If you’re driven to impact families during one of life’s most meaningful experiences, this is your invitation to apply. Seize the chance to practice in a vibrant Massachusetts community, to work with a supportive, forward-thinking OB team, and to expand your professional footprint across the country.
