Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Albany, OR
Contracted
Samaritan Albany General Hospital
Mid Level
Step into a rewarding role as a Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) in Albany, Oregon, where your clinical expertise and empathy shape the most meaningful moments in a family’s life. In this specialty you’ll support expectant families through labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care, translating knowledge into calm, precise care when it matters most. The work is demanding, but the impact is immediate and lasting: you’ll witness resilience, celebrate new beginnings, and help families navigate one of their strongest memories with confidence. Albany blends the warmth of a close-knit community with access to Oregon’s natural beauty—the Willamette Valley’s green hills, the foothills of the Cascades, and easy access to the Oregon Coast. This is a place where professional excellence and personal well-being intersect, and where your expertise can elevate perinatal outcomes while enriching your own life.

Location benefits extend beyond hospital walls. Albany’s maternity services are supported by a collaborative team, modern facilities, and opportunities for ongoing education. You’ll work in a setting that promotes growth, with a strong patient-centered culture and a focus on safety. Enjoy a high quality of life, a welcoming community, outdoor recreation at every turn, and a reasonable commute. For nurses who crave variety, this opportunity can also open doors to assignments across other locations in Oregon or within our nationwide network, exposing you to diverse birth practices, patient populations, and clinical protocols that sharpen your skills and broaden your perspective.

Role specifics and benefits: In L&D you’ll manage the full spectrum of obstetric care—from labor support and fetal monitoring to delivery assistance and immediate postpartum care. Your day could include monitoring contractions and fetal heart patterns, coordinating with obstetricians, midwives, and neonatal teams, assisting with vaginal, instrumental, and cesarean deliveries, and providing lactation support and family education. You’ll participate in rapid response planning, pain management, and evidence-based care that emphasizes safety, dignity, and informed choice. As you grow, there are clear pathways for specialty certification, leadership roles, and opportunities to contribute to teaching and quality improvement efforts. The position also includes tangible benefits: competitive compensation, a weekly pay range of $2,593-$2,806, and 36 guaranteed hours per week. A recruitment bonus is included, along with housing assistance to ease relocation and living arrangements. There are extension opportunities, so you can deepen your impact in a trusted setting or explore additional assignments to broaden your experience. You’ll receive comprehensive support from a dedicated travel team with 24/7 availability to assist you while you travel and work in different communities. Ongoing access to education resources, clinical mentorship, and tools to help you thrive in fast-paced maternity environments are also part of the package.

Company values: Our organization is committed to empowering staff, prioritizing career advancement, and fostering a supportive, inclusive work environment. We invest in your professional growth through mentoring, structured feedback, and opportunities to lead by example on the floor and in education roles. Whether you’re settling into Albany or exploring other locations, you’ll find a community that respects your contributions, supports your goals, and partners with you to achieve excellence in perinatal care.
