Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Key responsibilities: Provide direct patient care in a Med Surg Tele unit, including comprehensive telemetry monitoring, medication administration (oral, IV, and infusions as assigned), wound and IV therapy, post-op and medical/surgical patient management, and rapid response when patient status changes. Perform ongoing assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, coordinate with physicians, charge nurses, pharmacists, and case managers, and facilitate effective discharge planning with patient and family education. Accurately document in the electronic health record, ensure patient safety through evidence-based practices, and participate in rounds and care coordination meetings.
- Professional growth: The role offers pathways to deepen expertise in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing, pursue specialty certifications, engage in cross-training opportunities, and assume expanded responsibilities through preceptorship and potential leadership development tracks.
