Embrace a meaningful opportunity as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) on a dynamic travel assignment in Plattsburgh, New York, with start date March 23, 2026. In this specialty-focused role, you’ll deliver critical respiratory care across diverse clinical settings, collaborating with physicians and nurses to improve patient outcomes and comfort. This is more than a job—it's a chance to shape healing journeys, from acute care floors to transitional units, while expanding your expertise in respiratory modalities, weaning protocols, and ventilator management. And while you commit to excellence, you’ll also discover the beauty and vitality of northern New York—the region’s lakes, forests, and mountains offer inspiration and balance as you advance your career.
Plattsburgh sits near the Adirondack region and Lake Champlain, inviting a lifestyle that blends outdoor adventure with professional growth. Picture mornings on the shores of the lake, afternoons hiking in the High Peaks, and evenings exploring a welcoming hometown with affordable living and a strong sense of community. If you’re drawn to variety, this program also offers the chance to work in additional locations across the United States, broadening your professional scope while maintaining the support of a national team. The assignment environment provides exposure to a spectrum of patient populations and facilities, from community hospitals to critical care areas, ensuring you sharpen critical thinking and clinical judgment. And you’ll have access to remote and on-site 24/7 support from the company, no matter where your travels take you.
Key responsibilities include assessing and monitoring patients with respiratory insufficiency, adjusting ventilator settings, delivering prescribed therapies (inhaled bronchodilators, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy), and participating in weaning and liberation from ventilation when appropriate. You’ll perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation, manage humidification and airway clearance techniques, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize care plans. You’ll also educate patients and families, document clinical findings, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. The role is designed to support your growth as an RRT; you’ll gain exposure to complex cases, expand your scope through specialty certifications, and pursue opportunities for greater responsibility within the network. Benefits include a competitive bonus structure, housing assistance to ease relocation, and program extensions that can extend your engagement with the team as needs evolve. With a robust clinical support framework, you’ll never navigate challenges alone—24/7 assistance is available as you travel with the company, including dedicated clinical leads, travel coordinators, and operational staff ready to assist at any hour.
Our partner company is built on empowering its staff, with clear pathways for career advancement, ongoing education reimbursement, mentorship, and a culture that prioritizes patient-first care and professional well-being.
